The Geisha hairdo is a traditional Japanese hairstyle that is still worn by women around the world, according to the My Haircuts website. The simple-looking bun with two chopstick type accessories styled through the bun can be completed by you with just a few items.
Things You'll Need:
- Styling cream
- Teasing comb
- Hair band
- Chignon foundation
- Bobby pins
- Chopsticks
Instructions
- Apply a styling cream to clean, dry hair and allow to dry. The styling cream will help aid in the bun staying put.
- Slightly tease hair all over. Use a comb or brush specifically made to tease hair and tease in small sections.
- Pull hair into a high ponytail while smoothing sections of hair using a soft-bristled brush. Secure your ponytail with a hair band the same color as your hair color.
- Pull your ponytail through a chignon foundation.
- Take a small section of hair and wrap that over and then tuck under the chignon foundation. Secure with a bobby pin. Repeat with small sections of hair all the way around the foundation.
- Crisscross two decorative chopsticks through the chignon bun style, and you have a simply styled Japanese hairdo
